ADC ELECTS BABAGANA BUHARI AS BORNO GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTION

The Returning Officer for the All Democratic Congress governorship primary in Borno State, Adamu Mustapha, has declared Babagana Buhari as the winner of the election.

Announcing the results on Monday night, Mustapha said Buhari secured a total of 71,867 votes to defeat two other aspirants in the contest.

He disclosed that out of 102,900 registered voters, 85,567 were accredited, while 74,933 valid votes were recorded during the exercise.

According to the breakdown, Babagana Buhari led with 71,867 votes, while Sanusi Kashim Ibrahim polled 1,033 votes and Attom Muhammad Magira scored 4,033 votes.

Mustapha formally declared Buhari the winner, stating that he polled the highest number of valid votes in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.

Meanwhile, the party has also concluded arrangements to field consensus candidates for senatorial positions in the state.

Baba Gana Zanna will contest for Borno Central, Idris Mamman for Borno South, while Bulama Fugu Ibrahim will represent Borno North.

The ADC Organising Secretary in Borno, Muhammed Bolori, said the party is confident of victory, adding that all senatorial candidates emerged through consensus with no opposition.
