ARMED ASSAILANTS STRIKE NIPSS KURU, LEAVE THREE SECURITY PERSONNEL DEAD

Suspected gunmen on Monday night attacked the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, killing two soldiers and a police officer.
Confirming the incident, the institute’s Head of Public Affairs, Dr. Osime Samuel, said the security personnel were on duty at the institution’s staff quarters when the attack took place.
According to a statement issued by the institute, the incident occurred in the vicinity of NIPSS in the early hours of Tuesday.
Despite the attack, the institute assured the public that its operations have continued uninterrupted, stressing that all scheduled activities are proceeding as planned.
The statement also noted that there is no immediate threat to the safety of participants, staff, residents or facilities within the institute.
