BENUE NDC WARD CHAIRMAN KILLED AFTER ALLEGED ATTACK

The Benue State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress has condemned the killing of its Fiidi Ward Council Chairman in Makurdi Local Government Area, Igbu Terhemen.
Terhemen was reportedly attacked by suspected hoodlums who allegedly tied him up with ropes, injected him with substances suspected to be poisonous and abandoned him near his residence around the NNPC depot along the Makurdi-Otukpo Road.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Agile Bem, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to Bem, Terhemen was later discovered in an almost unconscious condition and was unable to speak or communicate before he eventually died.
The state chairman of the party, Ohini Ojegbe, condemned the killing, describing it as a “broad-daylight evil.”
Ojegbe called on security agencies to launch an immediate investigation into the incident, identify and arrest those responsible, and ensure that they face justice.
The party described Terhemen as a committed and dedicated member whose contributions to the growth of the NDC would be greatly missed, particularly at a time when his service and commitment were considered crucial.
The NDC also expressed condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, the Fiidi community and members of the party, praying that God would grant them the strength to cope with the loss.
