Senator Rufai Hanga Resigns From NDC
Senator Rufai Hanga, the Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate representing Kano Central Senatorial District, has resigned from the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Hanga announced his decision in a resignation letter dated August 3, 2026, addressed to the NDC Ward Chairman in his constituency.
In the letter, the lawmaker said his resignation followed careful reflection and personal deliberation, adding that he had chosen to leave the party to pursue other personal commitments and career interests.
He thanked the ward executive committee and members of the party for the support, opportunities and camaraderie he enjoyed during his time with the NDC.
Hanga also requested that his name be removed from the party’s membership register and said he had attached his official NDC membership card to the letter.
He concluded by wishing the party and its members success in their future endeavours.
