Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has now surpassed fellow artist Tems to become the African artist with the most entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.
The two had previously been tied at eight entries each, but Burna Boy moved ahead following his latest appearance on the chart through his collaboration with Shakira on the official World Cup song, “Dai Dai.”
The track debuted at number 75, raising Burna Boy’s total to nine entries—the highest recorded by any African artist.
“Dai Dai” also gained renewed attention after Burna Boy and Shakira performed it at the World Cup opening ceremony.
The singer has further extended his record as the first African artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive years.
His charting entries include “Loved By You” (2021), “Last Last” (2022), “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and “Talibans II” (2023), “Just Like Me” and “We Pray” (2024), “WGFT” (2025), and “Only You” and “Dai Dai” (2026).
