BUSINESSMAN ABDUCTED BY GUNMEN IN IBADAN

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a 60-year-old man in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The victim was reportedly kidnapped on Saturday while heading to his residence. The incident took place at Jinarere, Alakia area of the city.

The Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to the MEDIA on Sunday, adding that efforts are underway to secure the victim’s release.

According to the statement, preliminary findings show that the victim, a 60-year-old trader in building materials, was attacked while returning home along the Jinarere axis of Alakia Road by four masked armed men.

The assailants were said to have forcefully taken him away in an unregistered ash-coloured Toyota Corolla vehicle.
