CARABAO CUP: FIVE TEAMS QUALIFY FOR FOURTH ROUND

Five teams have secured their places in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup following the completion of Tuesday night’s third-round fixtures.
Arsenal recorded a 4-2 victory over Ipswich Town at Portman Road, with Max Dowman making a standout return to action by scoring twice on his first appearance of the season.
Noni Madueke and Mikel Merino were also on target for the Gunners, while Mehmeti and Chuba Akpom scored consolation goals for Ipswich.
Liverpool also progressed after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1, with Dominik Szoboszlai producing a stunning strike to help seal the victory.
Fulham edged West Ham United 3-2 in another entertaining encounter, while Brentford secured a 2-1 win over Reading.
Peterborough United completed the list of Tuesday’s winners after overcoming Barnsley on penalties. The match ended 2-2 after regulation time before Peterborough prevailed in the shootout.
The results mean Arsenal, Liverpool, Fulham, Brentford and Peterborough United have all advanced to the Carabao Cup fourth round.
