Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with Turkish champions Galatasaray demanding as much as €150m for the Nigerian forward ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to reports emerging from Turkey, the Premier League club are monitoring Osimhen’s situation closely as they prepare for a potential move in the coming months. The development adds another layer of speculation to the future of one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.

The situation has also been influenced by comments from Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, who confirmed that Osimhen was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal due to ongoing transfer considerations.

“Victor Osimhen will not be in our friendly matches against Poland and Portugal… there may be a possibility of a club change,” Chelle said, adding that the striker needed full focus during this period.

However, Osimhen quickly moved to clarify the situation, denying any controversy and insisting his coach’s remarks had been misinterpreted.

“I just got off the phone with Coach Eric Chelle… his words have been taken out of context,” he wrote on Instagram, urging the public to disregard speculation.

The Super Eagles media team also stepped in to clarify the coach’s comments as transfer rumours intensified across Europe.

Despite the striker’s denial, interest in Osimhen remains strong, with reports previously linking him to Manchester United and other top European clubs. Chelsea are now said to have made initial contact over a possible deal.

Galatasaray, however, are firm on their stance, reportedly unwilling to accept any offer below €150m for the striker they signed from Napoli for €75m last summer.

On the pitch, Osimhen enjoyed an impressive season, scoring 15 league goals and registering five assists in 22 matches as Galatasaray retained the Turkish Super Lig title. He also added seven goals and three assists in the UEFA Champions League as the club reached the round of 16.
