Describing the initiative as a significant expression of national appreciation and solidarity, Shaibu said it recognised the sacrifices made by personnel who lost their lives while serving the country.

The Army chief stressed that supporting families left behind by fallen personnel was both a humanitarian duty and a national responsibility.

He noted that continued assistance to the families not only honours the sacrifices of fallen heroes but also boosts the morale, commitment and fighting spirit of serving troops.

Shaibu expressed appreciation to the First Lady and the Renewed Hope Initiative for complementing the Nigerian Army’s efforts to improve the welfare of its personnel and their families.

He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to ensuring that families of fallen heroes receive the dignity, care and support they deserve.

According to him, the nation’s responsibility to its fallen heroes extends beyond their sacrifice to the welfare of the dependants they left behind.

The RHI financial support programme is designed to assist families of military and police personnel who died in the line of duty, while reinforcing national recognition of their service and sacrifice.
