CVR: INEC COMMENCES WARD-LEVEL ROTATION OF IVED

By: Muftau Fatimo
Residents of Osun State have been notified of a new phase in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the ward-level rotation of Integrated Voter Enrolment Devices (IVEDs) across the state.
The initiative, according to Musa Olurode, Public Affairs Officer of INEC in Osun State, commenced on Monday, February 2, 2026, as part of efforts to decentralize voter registration services and make them more accessible to eligible citizens at the grassroots.
“The rotation arrangement allows IVEDs to move from one ward to another within each Local Government Area, ensuring wider coverage and easier access to registration points,” the Commission explained.

INEC stated that the exercise is intended to enable residents to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), update existing records, or transfer registration without the need to travel long distances.
“The ward-level rotation of IVEDs is designed to bring voter registration services closer to the people,” the Commission said in a statement issued from Osogbo.
The exercise is scheduled to run for fifty days, from February 2 to April 10, 2026, and INEC encouraged all eligible citizens to visit designated centres in their wards during the specified periods.
“For transparency and effective monitoring, the detailed rotation schedule for each Local Government Area will be made available to the public,” the statement added.
The Commission assured stakeholders that sufficient measures have been put in place to guarantee a smooth and orderly registration process throughout the state.
INEC emphasized that the exercise is being conducted under the supervision of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke.
“The Commission remains dedicated to ensuring a credible, inclusive, and accessible voter registration process and urges all stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the exercise,” the statement concluded.
