The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has reaffirmed internal unity and unanimously passed a vote of confidence in its State Chairman, Comrade Stella Chukwuma, as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during a State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held at the party’s secretariat on Ogui Road, Enugu. The meeting was attended by chairmen from the state’s 17 local government areas and members of the State Working Committee, who praised Chukwuma’s leadership, describing it as visionary, resilient, and purpose-driven.
Party leaders highlighted Chukwuma’s leadership since assuming office in 2018, crediting her with strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and repositioning the ADC as a growing political force in Enugu State.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the SEC noted that Chukwuma had demonstrated strong leadership capacity, transforming the party from a modest base into an increasingly formidable organisation through sustained grassroots engagement and structural consolidation.
Speaking on behalf of the local government chairmen, the Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Arubareze, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 polls. He said the ADC was on course to win all elective positions it chooses to contest, attributing the party’s growing strength to effective coalition-building and internal discipline.
“All 17 local government chairmen have passed a vote of confidence in our State Chairman because of her transparent and commendable leadership. By 2027, the ADC will emerge victorious in all elections we participate in,” Arubareze said.
Addressing journalists, Chukwuma described the ADC as well-positioned for the upcoming elections, emphasizing the party’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and credible leadership. She cautioned against attempts by individuals within the coalition to assume leadership roles without formal registration, stressing that only duly registered members are eligible to hold party offices.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusivity, while emphasizing respect for leadership and internal processes.
The meeting concluded with a collective resolve by party leaders to sustain unity, strengthen party structures, and position the ADC for a strong performance in the 2027 general elections.
