EPL: ENZO FERNANDEZ POISED TO EXIT CHELSEA FOLLOWING MARESCA’S DISMISSAL

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is reportedly set to leave Stamford Bridge for Paris Saint-Germain following the sacking of coach Enzo Maresca, according to the media.
Maresca was dismissed on New Year’s Day after a dispute with the club’s management and replaced by Liam Rosenior, formerly of Strasbourg. The coaching change has reportedly unsettled Fernandez, prompting him to consider a move away from Chelsea.
The 24-year-old Argentine midfielder has attracted interest from PSG, and a transfer to the Parc des Princes could be on the cards this summer. Fernandez joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Benfica for a club-record £105 million and quickly became a key figure in the squad despite challenging times at the club.
During his 36 months at Chelsea, Fernandez has worked under seven different coaches, a level of instability that has left him seeking a more stable environment.

PSG, fresh off their UEFA Champions League triumph in the 2024-25 season, would welcome Fernandez into a strong midfield lineup featuring Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, and João Neves. Notably, Fernandez played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s victory over PSG in the FIFA Club World Cup final last year under Maresca, which could make reuniting with his former manager an appealing prospect.
If the move goes through, Fernandez will join a team with one of Europe’s most competitive midfield setups, positioning him for both stability and high-level competition.
