FIRE GUTS MULTI-STOREY BUILDING HOUSING POLARIS BANK ON LAGOS ISLAND

A fire outbreak occurred on Thursday at a multi-storey building housing a Polaris Bank branch on Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos State.
Videos circulating on social media showed thick smoke billowing from the building, as residents, traders, and passers-by gathered at the scene to watch the incident unfold.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, were deployed to the location and were seen battling to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings in the busy commercial area.
The cause of the fire had not been determined as of the time of filing this report.
There was also no official statement from emergency management agencies or the Lagos State Government regarding the incident.
No casualties had been confirmed as of press time.
Efforts to obtain reactions from relevant authorities were ongoing.
