Gunmen have reportedly killed a retired staff member of Ogun State Television (OGTV), Mrs Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as “Aunty Kitan,” and her security guard during an attack on her residence in Agodo community along the Abeokuta–Siun–Sagamu Expressway.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, with both victims later confirmed dead. Their remains have been deposited at the State Hospital morgue in Ijaiye, Abeokuta.

Although details surrounding the attack remain unclear, a source familiar with the incident said members of Oyesiku’s church discovered the tragedy after becoming concerned about her absence from a church service.

According to the source, the church members visited her home to check on her welfare and found the security guard dead before discovering Oyesiku had also been killed. They subsequently alerted residents and authorities.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the command was aware of the killings and would issue an official statement on the matter.

Oyesiku was a respected media professional who worked with the state-owned television station before retiring. News of her death has generated shock and mourning among colleagues, friends, and residents of Ogun State.
