IGP DISU APPROVES DEPLOYMENT OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS NATIONWIDE

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and strategic formations across the country following the endorsement of his recommendations by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The redeployment, according to the Nigeria Police Force, is aimed at boosting operational efficiency, strengthening leadership across commands and formations, and advancing ongoing reforms and the repositioning of the Force.

The newly appointed Commissioners of Police for state commands are CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo (Abia), CP Ayodeji Faniyan (Plateau), CP Saka Adewale Ajao (Bayelsa), CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue (Cross River), CP Nanna Oji Ama (Anambra), CP Patrick Daaor (Edo), CP Tani Murtala (Jigawa), and CP Samuel Erale (Delta).

The Police also announced several strategic postings to key departments and formations. They include CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja; CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike to INTERPOL, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja; CP Aina Adesola to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Department of Training and Development (DTD), Force Headquarters; CP Uduak Ita Otu to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos; and CP Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf to the General Investigation Department, FCID, Abuja.

Adeyinka to the Administration Department, FID, Abuja; CP Iya Umar Mohammed to Training, DTD, Force Headquarters; CP Darma Nuhu Na’aliyu to the Anti-Fraud Unit, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Mohammed Yakubu to Welfare, DFA, Force Headquarters; and CP Danbaba Mohammed Labbo to the Administration Department, FCID Annex, Gombe.

The Inspector-General charged the newly deployed senior officers to bring their wealth of experience to their new assignments by strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational effectiveness, promoting professionalism and enhancing community engagement in line with the vision of the Nigeria Police Force.

He also urged them to remain committed to protecting lives and property while upholding the highest standards of discipline, accountability and service delivery.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated that strategic personnel deployments remain a key aspect of its ongoing reforms aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening institutional capacity and delivering more effective policing services across the country.
