KANO APPOINTS 19 PERMANENT SECRETARIES, REDEPLOYS 14

The Kano State Government has approved the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries and redeployed 14 serving permanent secretaries across various ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to strengthen the state’s civil service.
The announcement was made by the Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman.
According to the statement, the appointments, approved by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, are aimed at reinforcing the machinery of government and improving effective service delivery.
It noted that the exercise followed the recent promotion of qualified directors to the rank of permanent secretary.
The government described the appointments as a call to greater responsibility and selfless service, expressing confidence that the newly appointed officials would carry out their duties with diligence, professionalism and competence in line with the administration’s development agenda.
The statement added that the postings take immediate effect, while all handing-over and taking-over processes are expected to be completed on or before Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
