KAYSLIKY REVEALS FINANCIAL CHALLENGES, IMPACT OF FAME ON HIS CAREER

Gospel-juju singer, Adebisi Solomon, popularly known as Kaysliky, has opened up about the financial challenges he faced at the early stage of his music career and the support that helped him remain committed to his craft.

Reflecting on his journey in the music industry, Kaysliky said there were periods when he performed at lounges without receiving performance fees, relying mainly on money sprayed by members of the audience.

He recalled that despite performing throughout the night, the proceeds were sometimes less than N50,000, making it difficult to cover expenses such as sound equipment and payments to members of his band.

“Starting out was tough. There were times I’d perform at lounges that refused to pay performance fees, telling me to rely solely on money sprayed by the audience. Often, after playing all night, we wouldn’t even make N50,000. Paying for sound equipment and settling my band members felt almost impossible,” he said.

The singer also disclosed that he faced rejection from some established colleagues, even after releasing his 2019 single, Appreciation.

Despite the challenges, Kaysliky credited his band members and close friends with helping him stay focused and committed to his career.

“After God, my friends are the backbone of my success story. All glory to God,” he said.

Speaking about the impact of fame, the singer noted that increased public recognition had affected his privacy and freedom to move around his community.

According to him, stardom has made some ordinary activities difficult because of the attention he receives from fans.

“Stardom takes away your privacy,” he noted, adding that he could no longer carry out some everyday activities without attracting crowds.

Meanwhile, Kaysliky is preparing for his flagship event, Kaysliky Live in Concert, following growing demands from fans for a major live performance.
