LAGOS–IBADAN EXPRESSWAY: CONTAINER TRUCK CRASHES INTO VEHICLES

A 40-foot container-laden truck reportedly suffered brake failure and crashed into road demarcation blocks and other vehicles near the exit of the Kara Bridge on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency disclosed the incident in a post on its X handle on Tuesday, urging motorists to remain patient as efforts were underway to clear the obstruction.
According to the agency, the crash has resulted in a traffic backlog stretching to New Garage, while recovery and evacuation operations have commenced.
LASMA stated that another accident was also recorded on the Kara Bridge inward Mowe, where a loaded trailer reportedly collided with a Sport Utility Vehicle.
Traffic management officials and police personnel have been deployed to the affected areas to manage traffic and facilitate the removal of the vehicles.
The agency appealed to motorists to exercise caution and patience, assuring road users that all necessary measures were being taken to clear the obstructions and restore normal traffic flow.
