The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended additional suspects in connection with the murder of Prince Ademola Akinloye, son of the Ajiran of Agungi, Oba Tijani Akinloye.
Earlier reports by the media on August 26, 2024, stated that gunmen shot and killed the prince along Chevron Drive near Ebeano Supermarket in Agungi. Initial investigations led to the arrest of nine individuals linked to the crime. The suspects were also reportedly connected to the killing of Sheriff Salami on April 18, 2023, in Moba, Ajah.
Speaking exclusively to our correspondent at the Officers’ Mess in Ikeja on Thursday, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, confirmed that more suspects had been taken into custody and had made voluntary confessional statements admitting their involvement in the prince’s murder.
Although the police chief did not specify the exact number of newly arrested suspects, he emphasized that the command remains committed to unraveling all aspects of the case.
