LASU OUTGOING VC CONGRATULATES BADEJO ON APPOINTMENT AS 10TH VICE-CHANCELLOR

The outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, has congratulated Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo on her appointment as the university’s 10th substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Professor Badejo, a Professor of Counselling Psychology, was appointed the 10th substantive and third female Vice-Chancellor of LASU on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, following a rigorous selection process.
In a congratulatory telephone conversation, Olatunji-Bello described Badejo as a worthy successor with the capacity to lead the university into its next phase of growth and development.
She expressed confidence that Badejo’s strong academic record, extensive administrative experience and international exposure would enable her to provide effective leadership, assuring her that she was leaving LASU in capable hands.
The outgoing Vice-Chancellor also pledged her full support to her successor whenever required, reaffirming her commitment to the continued growth and success of the university.
Olatunji-Bello, a Professor of Physiology and LASU’s second female Vice-Chancellor, is expected to complete her single five-year tenure on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Her administration has been credited with significant development across various aspects of the university.
