MDCN APPROVES MBBS PROGRAMME FOR FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, OTUKPO

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria has approved the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
The approval was confirmed over the weekend by a staff member of the institution, who also disclosed that it extends to the training of House Officers at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Otukpo.
The decision comes just days after MBBS students raised concerns and staged protests over accreditation issues affecting the programme.
The students had previously questioned the status of the course, sparking discussions within the university community.
The new approval is expected to resolve those concerns and further strengthen medical training at the university and its teaching hospital in Otukpo.
