NBA HONOURS VERYDARKMAN WITH RECOGNITION AWARD AT 2026 CONFERENCE

The Nigerian Bar Association has honoured social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, with a recognition award at its ongoing 2026 Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Otse received the award on Tuesday after participating as a panellist at the conference, where he spoke about insecurity and other challenges confronting the country.
Presenting the award, the session moderator, on behalf of the NBA President and members, appreciated Otse for attending the conference and sharing his personal experiences with participants.

The moderator also urged the influencer to report attacks to the police rather than resorting to violence.
Otse had earlier clarified that he was not invited to teach lawyers about law but to share his experiences, particularly regarding insecurity.
During the session, he criticised what he described as inadequate media coverage of killings and insecurity across the country.
He also recounted witnessing the aftermath of violent attacks, including the June 2025 Yelwata attack in Benue State, where more than 200 people were reportedly killed.
His appearance and subsequent recognition at the NBA conference have generated significant public attention.
