NSCDC ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED CATTLE RUSTLERS IN KANO

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kano State Command, have arrested two suspected cattle rustlers at a mining checkpoint along the Tudun Wada–Kiru Road in Kiru Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as 45-year-old Jamilu Sa’adu and 37-year-old Nura Abdullahi, were apprehended around 3am on Tuesday while allegedly transporting a stolen cow in a Sharon Galaxy vehicle with registration number JJN 606 AE.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the operatives intercepted the vehicle during a routine stop and search and discovered the cow tied down and concealed in the rear compartment.

Two other suspected accomplices, believed to be the principal suspects, reportedly fled after sighting the operatives and remain at large.

The NSCDC said the arrested suspects, along with the recovered cow and two machetes, are in custody as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged cattle rustling and establish the animal’s ownership.

The command assured that the suspects would be charged to court after the investigation and urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies.
