Reactions have continued to trail the alarm raised by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over alleged violence against his supporters ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

As earlier reported by DAILY POST, Adeleke alleged on Monday that extrajudicial killings were taking place in the state and appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene.

The governor made the remarks while addressing supporters at the Accord Party’s governorship campaign rally in Olorunda Local Government Area, Osogbo, and later shared a video of the event on his X account.

His appeal, however, sparked mixed reactions from social media users, with several commenters criticising him over what they described as his previous political alignment with President Tinubu.

Some users argued that the governor should face the consequences of his political decisions rather than expect intervention from the President, while others advised him to strengthen his political strategy and security measures ahead of the election.

Others accused the President of being unlikely to respond to the appeal, while a few urged Adeleke to collaborate with opposition figures in the lead-up to the polls.

The comments reflected growing political tensions in Osun State as campaigning intensifies ahead of the governorship election.
