According to the official results, Mohammed Abacha secured 749 votes, while Dalhatu polled 2,233 votes to clinch victory.

Declaring the result, Hadejia said Dalhatu, having scored the highest number of valid votes cast, was duly returned as the party’s governorship candidate for Kano State.

The committee commended all aspirants, delegates, party officials, security agencies, and stakeholders for their cooperation and maturity throughout the process.

Party members were also urged to remain united and work collectively toward securing victory for the PDP in the forthcoming general election in Kano State.

Mohammed Abacha had earlier contested for the party’s governorship ticket in 2023 but lost to Sadiq Aminu Wali following a legal dispute involving parallel party factions. He was also the governorship candidate of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance in the 2019 Kano governorship election.
