POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER WITH 64 BOTTLES OF METHYLENE CHLORIDE IN BAUCHI

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, and recovered 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride and 17 pieces of rubber solution from him.

Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu, was arrested by operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit during an intelligence-led operation in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis at about 5pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the suspect was intercepted during the operation, after which the operatives searched him and recovered the substances.

The recovered items included 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride, locally known as “Suck and Die,” and 17 pieces of rubber solution.

The command said the substances had been seized and registered as exhibits, while the suspect remained in custody and was assisting investigators with the ongoing probe.

Suleman is expected to be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to curbing the distribution and abuse of harmful substances across the state.

He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to strengthen surveillance and intensify operations against individuals and networks involved in the sale and abuse of illicit drugs.

The command also urged parents, guardians and community leaders to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely information to support efforts to combat drug abuse.
