SEVEN DEAD, MOTHER AND TWINS INJURED IN TRAILER CRASH IN IBADAN

Seven persons have been confirmed dead while a mother and her two children sustained injuries in a road crash involving multiple vehicles at Elewe-Odo Bus Stop in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The accident, which occurred on Tuesday, involved two trailers and two Micra cars.
The Sector Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Oyo State, Kehinde Dahunsi, confirmed the incident, saying the injured victims have been taken to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, for treatment.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash happened when one of the trailers reportedly suffered brake failure and lost control while approaching a junction, ramming into vehicles ahead of it.
An eyewitness said the trailer struck a Micra car, leading to multiple fatalities at the scene.
The FRSC commander explained that emergency responders arrived at the scene for rescue operations and confirmed that seven people died instantly.
He added that a mother and her twins were rescued alive but sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to UCH for medical attention.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Odogbo Cantonment Barracks Mortuary.
The FRSC described the crash as a case of brake failure and urged motorists, especially heavy-duty vehicle operators, to ensure proper maintenance of their vehicles to prevent avoidable road tragedies.
