SUPER FALCONS COACH ANNOUNCES SQUAD FOR COMOROS OLYMPIC QUALIFIER

Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 28-player squad for Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic qualifying fixtures against Comoros.
The squad was announced on Tuesday through the team’s official X account.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie headline the squad, alongside young forward Janet Akekoromowei, who has attracted attention following her recent performances and move to Benfica.
Defender Ashleigh Plumptre also returns to the team after missing the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

Goalkeepers:
Chiamaka Nnadozie, Comfort Erhabor, Christiana Uzoma.
Defenders:
Michelle Alozie, Shukurat Oladipo, Farida Abdulwahab, Glory Ogbonna, Oluwatosin Demehin, Glory Edet, Ashleigh Plumptre, Timininu Adeshina.
Midfielders:
Christy Ucheibe, Joy Igokwe, Favour Nwocha, Fatimoh Solaty, Suliat Abideen, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini.
Forwards:
Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala, Flourish Sabastine, Shakirat Moshood, Gift Monday, Joy Omewa, Blessing Nkor, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi, Janet Akekoromowei, Uchenna Kanu.
The invited players are expected to report to AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3.
Both legs of the tie will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.
The first leg is scheduled for Friday, October 9, while the return fixture will take place on Tuesday, October 13.
The Super Falcons, who are 10-time African champions, will begin their campaign for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles with the two-legged tie against Comoros.
