TAMBUWAL: I’M NOT LEAVING ADC FOR APC

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has denied reports that he plans to defect from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Prince Daniel, on behalf of the AWT Media Office, the reports circulating on social media were described as false and baseless.
The statement maintained that the former Sokoto State governor had no intention of joining the ruling party.
It explained that Tambuwal’s longstanding relationships with politicians across party lines should not be interpreted as an indication that he was planning to change his political affiliation.
According to the media office, photographs and video clips circulating online did not provide evidence that the senator was negotiating to defect to the APC.
It added that exchanging pleasantries or interacting with politicians from other parties should not be mistaken for a shift in political allegiance.
“Senator Tambuwal remains firmly committed to the ADC,” the statement said, noting that his focus was on strengthening the party, fostering broad cooperation and mobilising Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
The media office urged Nigerians to pay greater attention to the country’s economic, security and governance challenges rather than engage in unsubstantiated political speculation.
It also reaffirmed Tambuwal’s commitment to accountable leadership, democratic values and the welfare of Nigerians.
The statement further urged media organisations and social media commentators to verify information concerning the senator with his media office before publishing such reports.
“Speculation must never be presented as fact,” it added.
