TG/PS EDUCATION DISTRICT II COMMENDS APROCON, URGES SUSTAINED EFFORTS

The Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, has commended the Association of Professional Counsellors of Nigeria (APROCON) for their dedication and contributions to the growth of education in Lagos State. He noted that professional associations in the sector have been instrumental in actualising Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda.
Mr. Osinaike gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by members of APROCON in Education District II to his office, stressing that the association has been making positive impacts in the holistic development of students across the State.
“APROCON has been doing wonderfully well in this regard. With both students and staff across the District, we have seen the positive impact of your association, and I am truly appreciative of your good work,” he stated.

He encouraged the Association to sustain its efforts in improving the education sector, while also highlighting the improved performance of Education District II in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). He revealed that the results were far better than in previous years, describing the feat as a testament to the collective commitment and resilience of staff, students, and stakeholders. He urged all to remain steadfast in the pursuit of excellence.
Earlier, the Head of the Guidance and Counselling Unit in the District, Princess Bolanle Adeniyi, expressed delight at the opportunity to formally welcome the TG/PS and pledge the Association’s loyalty and collaboration in driving the District to greater heights. She reaffirmed APROCON’s commitment to supporting the District’s educational advancement and ongoing advocacy against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in the State.
According to her, the visit was timely, as preparations for the annual SGBV campaign were underway. She emphasised that the Guidance and Counselling Unit of the District has always played a frontline role in the campaign and would continue to do so with the TG/PS’s support. She also prayed for the success of his tenure and the well-being of all stakeholders in the District.
The visit was marked by a spirit of collaboration, unity, and a shared vision for the continued progress of Education District II.
