TINUBU TO DEPART LAGOS FOR ABUJA AFTER SIX-DAYS IN LAGOS

President Bola Tinubu is set to leave Lagos for Abuja on Monday evening, bringing his six-day stay in the state to an end following his annual vacation in Europe.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday titled, “President Tinubu returns to Abuja.”
According to the statement, Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Tuesday, September 29, after spending his annual vacation in London and Paris.
During his stay in Lagos, the President delivered his Independence Day address on October 1 as Nigeria marked its 66th anniversary. In the broadcast, Tinubu declared that the country was moving from an “age of reform” into an “age of prosperity.”

Later that day, he attended the national premiere of MKO, a documentary chronicling the life, political struggle and legacy of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, as well as the June 12 pro-democracy movement. The screening took place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.
On Sunday, Tinubu visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, at the monarch’s Iga Iduganran Palace on Lagos Island.
The President had departed Nigeria earlier in September for his annual vacation in the United Kingdom and France.
During his stay in France, Tinubu was reported to have held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on September 17.
The President was absent from the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Vice President Kashim Shettima led Nigeria’s delegation on his behalf.
