TROOPS ARREST SUSPECT OVER DEADLY CLASH IN PLATEAU STATE

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau State have apprehended a suspect in connection with the killing of a man during a violent altercation in Bassa Local Government Area.
Security sources said the incident occurred around 2 am on May 23 in Bomo village, where two residents, Sani Haruna and Bashiru Saidu, were involved in an altercation.
According to security expert, Zagazola Makama, on X, when troops from Sector 1 of Operation Safe Haven arrived at the scene, they found Sani Haruna with serious stab wounds allegedly inflicted by Bashiru Saidu during the fight.
The victim was immediately evacuated to a medical facility in Miango for treatment but was later confirmed dead by medical personnel,” he added.
Following the incident, troops working with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria launched a search operation for the suspect.
Security sources confirmed that the suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security across communities in Plateau State, urging residents to resolve disputes amicably rather than resorting to violence.
