TROOPS KILL NINE TERRORISTS IN BORNO, NAB SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS IN PLATEAU

Nigerian troops have killed nine terrorists in a precision airstrike in Borno State and arrested six suspected kidnappers and terrorist logistics suppliers receiving treatment for gunshot wounds in Plateau State.
The military disclosed this in an operational report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, highlighting recent successes recorded across the North-East, North-Central and other operational theatres.
According to the report, an air interdiction mission codenamed Operation GUARDIAN tracked three motorcycles transporting nine suspected terrorists around Mai Hisari Arege in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.
The report said the military aircraft carried out a precision strike that destroyed the motorcycles and neutralised all nine terrorists.
In Plateau State, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN arrested six suspected kidnappers and terrorist logistics suppliers at a hospital in Jos South Local Government Area.
The suspects were reportedly receiving treatment for gunshot and machete injuries when they were apprehended. They are currently in military custody and undergoing further investigation.
The report also stated that troops arrested a Fulani youth leader in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State over his alleged involvement in a recent terrorist attack on Naridon community.
In Benue State, troops conducting offensive operations in Ukum Local Government Area engaged suspected terrorists in a gun battle, killing one while others escaped.
During the operation, security forces recovered a locally fabricated pistol, a motorcycle and other items.
The military further disclosed that troops responding to an attack on herders in Guma Local Government Area of Benue arrested a suspect accused of attacking a herder with a machete, while the injured victim was evacuated for medical treatment.
