The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated advanced crime-fighting equipment and protective gear to the Lagos State Police Command as part of efforts to bolster security operations and improve policing across the state.
The development was disclosed on Saturday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, in a video shared on X.
Presenting the equipment, the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, described the initiative as a proactive measure aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of security personnel and strengthening security coverage throughout Lagos.
According to Ogunsan, the intervention underscores the state government’s commitment to improving security infrastructure and ensuring law enforcement officers are adequately equipped to tackle emerging threats.

“The essence of this intervention is to ensure that our security personnel are properly equipped to respond effectively to emerging threats and maintain public safety across Lagos,” he said.
He added that the deployment of modern security tools would boost operational efficiency and contribute to the protection of lives and property.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Lagos State Police Command, Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the LSSTF and the Lagos State Government for the support.
“We are grateful to the Lagos State Government and the LSSTF for this timely intervention,” he said.
Fatai assured residents that the gadgets would be immediately deployed to strategic Area Commands across the state to strengthen surveillance and improve response capabilities.
“These gadgets will help us raise our surveillance level, improve response capacity, and ensure the safety of lives and property across Lagos State,” he added.
The donation is part of ongoing efforts to modernise security operations in Lagos. Earlier this year, the LSSTF partnered with the Nigeria Police Force Airwing Command to launch aerial surveillance patrols as part of an intelligence-driven policing strategy.
