Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described President Bola Tinubu’s continuous commissioning of projects over a 28-day period as unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.
Wike made the remark on Friday during the commissioning of the reconstructed Arab/Bazango Road in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, one of the projects executed to commemorate President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
According to the minister, the administration commissioned and flagged off 31 projects within 28 days, a feat he said no previous Nigerian president had achieved.
He stated that the projects have brought tangible benefits to communities, particularly residents of the Arab/Bazango area, where improved road infrastructure has enhanced transportation and boosted commercial activities.
Wike said the transformation of the once dilapidated road demonstrates the impact of purposeful governance and reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.
He added that effective governance is driven by commitment to the welfare of the people, stressing that residents are already experiencing the positive effects of the completed infrastructure.
The minister also highlighted the FCT Administration’s road development achievements since President Tinubu assumed office.
According to him, the administration has awarded contracts for 317 kilometres of roads in satellite towns across the FCT.
He disclosed that 221 kilometres of the roads have been completed, while work is ongoing on the remaining 96 kilometres.
Wike noted that the projects form part of the administration’s broader efforts to improve infrastructure, stimulate economic activities and enhance the quality of life in communities across the Federal Capital Territory.
