Athletico Madrid have joined Premiere League clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Ajax starlet, Neres.
The 22-year-old forward has shot to prominence this season after playing a starring role in Ajax’s incredible campaign at home and in Europe.
According to AF, Liverpool and Chelsea are among the teams believed to be chasing the Brazilian but now AS claim they face competition from Atletico Madrid.
Manager Diego Simeone is looking to bolster his squad, with the likes of Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann all leaving this summer.
Now reports in Spain claim Atletico have made Neres their No 1 target, though they know he will come at a hefty price following his fine season for Ajax.
The 22-year-old is part of the Brazil squad for this summer’s Copa America, having amassed 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 appearances for Ajax this year.
