GERMANY PROVIDES MAJOR ASSISTANT TO UKRAINE IN FIGHT AGAINST RUSSIA
By Adeniyi Onaara
In the midst of the current conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Germany will supply IRIS-T air defense systems to the Ukrainian government.
In an address to the German Parliament on Wednesday, Germany’s chancellor, Olaf Scholz, revealed this.
Scholz stated that Germany will supply the IRIS-T, its “most advanced air defense system,” to help Ukraine combat Russia.
“In the next weeks, we will send further weapons,” Scholz added. “For example, the German government just determined that we will supply the IRIS-T system, Germany’s most sophisticated air defense system.”
“Ukraine will be able to defend a whole city against Russian air raids as a result of this,” he claimed.
Remember that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia began in February of this year and several casualties have already been recorded.
Both neighbouring countries have been fighting for over three months as of today.
