Emma Jay-Jay in an Interview – Whenever I think about Austin(Okocha) there’s this wide smile on my face.
I was in the National Team, that was late 89 & early 90, he was playing for his school team.
I was busy with my own career, traveling around, and I never took out time to know how he was doing.
When I came back, he has already signed for CCB(a bank then).
Eventually the next game we had then, FA Cup game was against CCB, I didn’t even know he was in the first team, I used to hear a little thing about him.
When we lined up, he was lined up on the other side, I was like “Austin have you finished your house chores, did you finish washing the plate before coming out, and he laughed.
When the game started to my greatest surprise, he(Jay-Jay Okocha) was Man of the Match, he tore Rangers apart.
We won the game 1 : 0, but it was a narrow escape.
He brought tears in my eyes watching him play a lot of time.
