LAGOS POLICE PARADE 14 SUSPECTS, RECOVERS 25 LIVE AMMUNITION, OTHER EXHIBITS

The Lagos State Police Command has paraded 14 suspects whose names include,Seaman Nnamani Anointing, Onyekachi Egwin, Olayinka Micheal, Jamiu Abdulraman, Daniel John, Smart Richard, and Segun Adeleke over their involvement in armed robbery, stealing, criminal conspiracy and fradulent acts.

Others involved includes; Monsuru Aderogba, Gbenga Sokanbi, Lukmon Akanwo, Eninjah Jude, Ezugwu Nelson, Raymond Saater Ukange and Taiwo Amurudeen Abdulrauf.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, made this known while speaking during a press conference at the States’ Police Command on Wednesday.

While speaking to the press, he mentioned that two arms, 25 live ammunitions, eight cars, seven cartons of baby products and other exhibits were recovered from the suspects adding that, two of the suspects identified as Seaman Nnamani Anointing (28) and Onyekachi Egwin (27), were arrested in connection with the murder of Abiona Hezekiah, a Police Inspector.

He also, stated that the force is working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of justice to ensure that justice prevails in the case and anyone found guilty will be punished accordingly.

The CP further disclosed that three suspects were also arrested after an information was received on November 21, 2022 at about 2:00am that some robbers were sighted at the premises of a manufacturing factory in the Ikotun area of Lagos State, adding that the suspects will be charged to court on completion of the investigation.

However, he listed some of the items recovered at the Scene of the crime to be, One iron cutter, Three padlocks, Seven cartons of Cussons Baby products, Damaged padlocks and Ropes.

“Three suspects were arrested by the command after receiving information at about 2:00 am on November 21, 2022, that some robbers were sighted at the premises of a manufacturing company at Ikotun area of Lagos State.”

“All suspects will be charged to court after completion of investigation.” He added.

Meanwhile, CP Alabi, while still speaking, revealed that some suspected unknown gunmen were arrested for car hijacking within Lagos and its neighboring states.

He added that, “Two locally made double barrel cut to size guns, twenty-five live cartridges, one unregistered RAV 4 SUV, two unregistered Golf 3 cars, one unregistered Toyota Sienna and one unregistered Toyota Corolla” were recovered from the suspects.

Further, the Commissioner said that Eninjah Jude, another suspect, had been arrested for stealing a Toyota Hiace bus just days after starting a job as a school bus driver in Lagos, mentioning that another driver was arrested for stealing his ex-boss’ Toyota Camry after he lost his job in November.

According to the commissioner, Taiwo Amurudeen Abdulrauf, a suspected fraudster, was detained after seducing young women into dating him and using their information to register new bank accounts, which he then used for fraudulent operations.

Mr. Alabi reaffirmed the command’s dedication to guaranteeing the safety of Lagosians during the holiday season.

“We assure you that the safety of the State is our top priority as adequate human and operational resources have been deployed to all strategic points across the State.”
