EFCC BLOWS COVER ON ALLEGED YAHOO ACADEMY IN BENIN, ARRESTS 25
Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 25 suspected internet fraudsters in a alleged cybercrime training centre in Benin City, Edo State.
A statement by the commission on Friday said the suspects were arrested on Thursday.
The EFCC said the suspects arrested at their hideout were triggered by credible intelligence, that indicated the apartment was being used as a Yahoo academy or training school for internet-related fraud and other fraudulent activities.
Items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops and phones.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded”, the statement added.
