A new video has surfaced online showing the moments leading up to the arrest and remand of Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, at Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.
The footage, recorded by Emmanson herself, captures an air hostess standing at the aircraft’s exit, blocking her path after other passengers had reportedly disembarked. In the clip, Emmanson is heard saying: “Madam, abeg comot for road make I pass, everybody don comot for the aircraft, comot for road make I pass.” She then turns the camera and adds: “Una don see wahala, I want to go out, an air hostess is standing on the way.”
Ibom Air, however, said the Purser prevented Emmanson from leaving until security personnel arrived, as the Pilot-in-Command had earlier reported her alleged unruly behaviour to airport authorities. According to the airline, Emmanson attacked both the crew and airline security on arrival in Lagos, even slapping the ground supervisor, before being forcibly removed from the aircraft and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force.
The incident reportedly began mid-flight from Uyo to Lagos when Emmanson refused to switch off her mobile phone despite repeated instructions. After a fellow passenger switched it off, she allegedly engaged in a verbal tirade before the situation was calmed. Upon arrival, she allegedly confronted the purser again, leading to the altercation captured on video.
Ibom Air has since imposed a flight ban on Emmanson, while she faces prosecution. The viral footage has reignited debate on social media over the handling of her case, with comparisons drawn to a recent airport incident involving Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), who received no legal sanction after issuing an apology.
