The Adamawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 589.536 kilograms of assorted hard drugs and arrested 107 suspects within two months.
State Commander, Aliyu Abubakar, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing journalists at the command headquarters along Numan Road, Yola. He said the success reflects the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
“Since taking over leadership in the past two months, our period has been marked by intense activity, strategic engagements, and significant breakthroughs. Our efforts align with the vision of our Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd), under the three-pronged approach of Supply Reduction, Demand Reduction, and Advocacy,” Abubakar stated.
He listed the seized substances to include cannabis, Tramadol, Exol-5, Pentozacine injections, methamphetamine, codeine tablets, promethazine injections, and Rohypnol.
The commander further revealed that six properties in Mubi and Yola suspected to be linked to the drug trade, along with vehicles used for storage and distribution, are currently under interim forfeiture proceedings.
On prosecutions, Abubakar said the command has secured 15 convictions, while 50 cases remain pending at different stages before the Federal High Court in Yola.
He warned drug traffickers and abusers to desist from their activities, stressing that anyone caught will face the full weight of the law.
