Rasmus Hojlund continued his impressive form for Napoli, scoring the decisive goal in a 2-1 comeback victory over Genoa on Sunday, a result that lifted the Serie A champions to the top of the table.

The 22-year-old Danish striker, who netted twice in midweek against Sporting Lisbon, struck again in the 75th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound after Andre-Frank Anguissa’s fierce shot was parried by Genoa goalkeeper Nicola Leali. The goal took Hojlund’s tally to four since joining Napoli from Manchester United.

“It’s my job and the team’s job to win as many games as possible,” Hojlund told DAZN after the match. “I just need to keep working hard, recover, and focus on the next match.”

Coach Antonio Conte revealed he had considered substituting Hojlund before the goal, given his heavy midweek workload. “He asked if I could keep playing, and I told him I still had good energy and wanted to continue,” the forward added.

Napoli had to fight back after teenager Jeff Ekhator put Genoa ahead before halftime. Anguissa bundled home the equalizer in the 57th minute before Hojlund sealed the win.

With the victory, Napoli now sit atop Serie A with 15 points from six matches, level with Roma but ahead on goal difference. They will remain in first place unless AC Milan defeat Juventus in Sunday night’s headline clash in Turin.

In another fixture, Roma earned a 2-1 away win at Fiorentina, securing their third straight league victory. Matias Soule and Bryan Cristante struck for Roma after Moise Kean’s early opener, while Fiorentina’s struggles continued as they remain winless and just above the relegation zone.
