
EDUCATION DISTRICT II SHINES AT 2025 PRESIDENT’S TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS’ EXCELLENCE AWARD
–Best School Administrator: Mrs Odenike Mobolaji –Second Best Public Senior Secondary School: Eva Adelaja Girls Senior Secondary School.
Education District II, Lagos State, has once again demonstrated its culture of excellence and distinction at the Year 2025 World Teachers’ Day Celebration and President’s Teachers and Schools’ Excellence Award, held on Sunday, 5th October, 2025, at the Eagles Square, Abuja. The event, themed “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” brought together educators, school leaders, and policymakers from across the nation to honour exceptional contributions to the advancement of education in Nigeria.
At the prestigious national ceremony, Mrs. Odenike Faosat Mobolaji, Principal of Elepe Community Junior School, Ikorodu, emerged as the Best School Administrator of the Year, receiving a cash prize of ₦3.5 million for her exceptional leadership, mentorship, and dedication to improving teaching and learning outcomes in her school.
Adding to the District’s remarkable achievements, Eva Adelaja Senior Secondary School also clinched the position of the Second Best Public Senior Secondary School in Nigeria, further cementing Education District II’s reputation as a leading hub of academic excellence and innovation within the Lagos State Education landscape.
In his congratulatory message, the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mr. Olusegun Osinaike, expressed immense pride and satisfaction over the District’s outstanding performance at the national level.
“I am exceedingly proud of Mrs. Odenike Mobolaji and our award-winning school for these well-deserved recognitions,” said Mr. Osinaike.
“These achievements reflect the dedication, passion, and collaborative spirit of our educators who continue to uphold the vision of excellence that defines Education District II. They have once again demonstrated that with commitment, teamwork, and innovation, our teachers and schools can compete and excel on the national stage.”
The TG/PS further applauded all teachers and school administrators in the District for their tireless contributions to educational development, urging them to emulate the outstanding performance of their colleagues.
“I encourage all our educators to continue giving their best in the service of humanity. Education District II will keep supporting and celebrating exceptional teachers who distinguish themselves through hard work and innovation,”he added.
Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to teachers’ empowerment and professional development through continuous training, collaboration, and policy support. He commended Nigerian teachers for their resilience, innovation, and vital role in national growth, emphasizing that “recasting teaching as a collaborative profession” is key to transforming the education sector for sustainable national development.
The 2025 Teachers’ Day celebration also recognised several outstanding educators, schools, and administrators from across the nation whose dedication and performance continue to advance quality education and inspire excellence in teaching.
