NED NWOKO, REGINA DANIELS TRADE ACCUSATIONS OVER MARITAL CRISIS, DRUG USE, FAMILY DISPUTES

The ongoing marital crisis between Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has escalated into a public confrontation, with both parties trading serious allegations ranging from drug use to harassment, manipulation, and abuse.
Senator Nwoko, in a series of posts on his X handle on Saturday, accused Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, of harassing his children and domestic staff. He claimed to have sponsored Sammy’s education and lifestyle, funding his last two years at the University of Ekpoma and providing financial assistance estimated at ₦125 million to Regina’s mother over the past two years.
“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff, especially whenever I was not around. His visits were often aggressive and disruptive,” Nwoko wrote.
He further alleged that Sammy introduced Regina to drug use and undermined her rehabilitation process. “In fact, Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first introduced and supplied these drugs to her… rather than helping her recover, they kept drawing her back into the same destructive habit,” the senator claimed.
According to Nwoko, his efforts to support Regina’s rehabilitation created friction with her family and friends, who he said often disregarded medical instructions to keep them away during her treatment.
The lawmaker also recounted a confrontation at his residence, claiming Sammy arrived at 4 a.m., shouting and demanding a face-to-face meeting after being asked to remove his girlfriend from the house. “I eventually went downstairs and had to instruct the security to push him out of my compound,” Nwoko said, describing the incident as a result of “drug-fueled audacity.”
He denied allegations of physical assault against any family member, describing a viral video purportedly showing violence as “a pure Nollywood scenario filmed in front of my house, in my absence.” Nwoko insisted that Sammy “now needs professional rehabilitation and guidance rather than sympathy.”
Responding via her Instagram page on Sunday, Regina Daniels admitted to past drug use but accused Nwoko of manipulation and emotional abuse, dismissing his claims as attempts to smear her image.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without remorse? You know my family has nothing to do with this,” she wrote. “Fine, I did drugs so what? That’s not the issue between us. You ran to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ just to distract people from the real problem.”
The actress accused her estranged husband of isolating her by targeting her family and friends, claiming he wanted to “arrest everyone around her” so she would have no choice but to return to him. She further alleged that Nwoko encouraged her drug use for his pleasure, saying, “You’re the same Ned who always wanted me high because you said I was ‘sexier’ that way.”
Daniels also accused Nwoko of sexual assault, confinement, and medical manipulation. “Why don’t you tell people how you lock me up and have doctors inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder? You seize my phones because you hate that I talk to my family,” she alleged.
The actress denied being incoherent or violent as claimed by Nwoko, insisting, “You’ve never seen me act out of control. Stop using the drugs story to distract the public.”
She further revealed that their union was never legally binding, saying, “There was no marriage in any court of law. No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the time and opportunities I sacrificed. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
The public feud follows weeks of reports about their troubled relationship, which Regina previously described as abusive. Nwoko had denied those allegations, attributing their problems to her alleged “substance abuse.”
The situation intensified after Regina’s brother, Sammy, was arrested in Lagos, transferred to Abuja, and arraigned in court before being remanded pending bail conditions.
Amid the crisis, Regina shared emotional videos celebrating the reconciliation of her estranged parents, who reunited amid the family turmoil. She expressed fear and exhaustion over her brother’s safety, drawing sympathy from fans and colleagues who have called for calm and mediation between both parties.
The saga has continued to dominate social media discourse, sparking debates on power dynamics, marital abuse, and the intersection between fame and family in Nigeria’s entertainment and political circles.
