The family of late singer Ifunanya Nwangene, popularly known as Nanyah, has announced her burial arrangements following her death on January 31, 2026.

Nanyah died after she was bitten by a snake at her residence in Abuja. She was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later passed away.

Her brother, Kingsley Nwangene, announced her funeral plans via Instagram on his handle, @official_kaybaba1, sharing her obituary and posting a brief tribute, writing, “Till I see you again.”

According to the family, a service of songs will be held on February 10, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Abule Oshun, Dansa, Lagos, beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a requiem mass at the same venue by 6 p.m.

“Ifunanya will be laid to rest in her hometown in Enugu State on February 14, 2026, while a thanksgiving service to celebrate her life and legacy has been scheduled for February 15, 2026,” the family added.

Meanwhile, the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society Choir held a tribute concert in honour of the late Abuja-based singer at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The programme, titled “Tribute and Songs,” was organised in loving memory of the singer.

It was earlier reported that Nwangene’s body had been transported to her father in Enugu State, according to the choir, which described her passing as a major loss to Abuja’s music community.
