2027: PETER OBI INSISTS HIS GOAL IS TO FIX NIGERIA, NOT JUST WIN THE PRESIDENCY

The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has said he is not driven by the ambition to become Nigeria’s President.

In an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunday Politics’, Obi insisted that his overriding ambition is to see the country work for the benefit of all citizens.

He was speaking about his vision for governance and his commitment to supporting any initiative capable of moving Nigeria forward.

According to the former Anambra state governor, his political aspiration is driven by the desire to fix the country’s challenges rather than a personal quest for power.

“I am not desperate to become President of Nigeria. I am desperate to see Nigeria work. If it is working, I will support whatever makes it work,” Obi said.

The politician stated that the true measure of leadership lies in its ability to improve the lives of citizens, restore public trust in government and create an environment that supports economic growth.

The NDC presidential candidate stressed that national interest must come before personal ambition, arguing that Nigeria needs leaders who are genuinely committed to addressing the country’s challenges.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to implementing reforms aimed at improving governance, strengthening public institutions and revitalising the economy if elected president in the 2027 general election.
