2027: WIKE CLAIMS AMAECHI BACKED BUHARI OVER JONATHAN, VOWS TO ‘PAY HIM BACK’

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says Rivers State residents will vote for President Bola Tinubu over the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, in the 2027 election.
Speaking on Saturday in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Wike recalled that Amaechi chose former President Muhammadu Buhari over then-President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 presidential election.
According to him, Amaechi did nothing for the people of Rivers State while serving as Minister of Transportation.
He accused the former Rivers State governor of relocating the University of Transportation to Daura, Katsina State, instead of establishing the institution in his home state.
In 2014, Amaechi defined who a brother is. Other speakers didn’t want to call his name. Well, I have the capacity to call his name all the time
Wike said Amaechi had previously defined a brother as someone who identifies with others in times of challenges, stressing that brotherhood is not necessarily based on blood relations.
He said the same definition would be applied in the 2027 presidential election, recalling Amaechi’s claim that former President Goodluck Jonathan did not care about the people of Rivers State, while former President Muhammadu Buhari was considered their “brother” because he identified with them.
Wike questioned Amaechi’s record while serving as a minister, asking what he had done for the people of Rivers State. He alleged that Amaechi instead facilitated the establishment of the University of Transportation in Daura, Katsina State, in the hope that the move would boost his chances of becoming president.
He further asked whether the decision eventually helped Amaechi achieve his presidential ambition.
“Now, Asiwaju has identified with us. Our sons are now Vice Chancellors of the University of Port Harcourt and the newly established University of Environment, which Amaechi denied us.
“That means Tinubu is our brother, and we have adopted him as our brother. So, we are going to follow Amaechi’s definition and vote President Tinubu over him and the ADC,” Wike said.
