TINUBU OBSERVES JUMAT PRAYERS AT LAGOS CENTRAL MOSQUE

On Friday, President Bola Tinubu joined the Muslim faithful to observe Jummah prayers at the Lagos Central Mosque in Lagos Island.
Alongside Tinubu were other high-ranking government officials, including National Security Advisor Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamilla.
In his sermon, Sheikh Sulaiman Abu-Nollah, the Chief Imam of Lagos Central Mosque, urged the faithful to treat Muslims and non-Muslims with kindness.
He emphasized that Muslims should imitate the Prophet’s moral behavior, pointing out that the Prophet treated everyone equally, regardless of their social standing, religious beliefs, or tribal heritage.
Advocating for passion and discipline in the nation, the Chief Imam also emphasized the significance of upholding law and order.
The nation, the President, and the members of his cabinet were prayed for, and prayers were made asking Allah to grant calm and peace.
Following the prayers, the vice executive chairman of the Lagos Central Mosque and Bashorun Musulumi of Lagos, Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy, made a plea to the president, requesting that the Dodan Barracks authorities allow the Jama’atul Muslimeen Council of the Lagos Central Mosque unrestricted access to the Obalende Eid Prayer Ground.
Alabi-Macfoy recalled that a Special Committee had been established by the former president Muhammadu Buhari to look into and resolve disputes over land management and control between the Lagos Muslim Community and Federal Government Agencies, especially those based at Dodan Barracks.
A presidential directive acknowledging that the Obalende Eid Prayer Ground is legally the property of the Jama’atul Muslimeen Council of the Lagos Central Mosque marked the conclusion of the committee’s work, which was chaired by Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
In addition, former President Buhari issued an order to remove all trash and containers from the Obalende Eid Prayer Ground and to cease its vulgar use as a landfill.
Bashorun Musulumi of Lagos requested that the President steps in to guarantee that Jama’atul Muslimeen Council has complete access to the prayer ground, acknowledging Tinubu’s role in resolving the issue during the previous administration.
