The Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, has described Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1 FM as the best radio station in Nigeria, considering its top-notch service delivery.

The House Committee Chairman, who stated this when he led members of the Committee and other administrative staff on a working visit to the station recently, called for more collaboration between the station, the State House of Assembly, and other specialized stakeholders to create awareness for the public on the importance of Traffic Laws and the Integrated Inter-modal Transport system of this administration.

Hon. Ogundipe expressed satisfaction with the evolutional achievements of the station within the short period of its existence and pledged the committee’s support for the station in solving all challenges confronting it.

In a live interview in the station studio, Hon. Ogundipe urged road commuters to obey all traffic rules and road signs and also assured Lagosians of the House of Assembly’s commitment to pass laws that will enhance the lives of the citizenry.

Meanwhile, Hon. Samuel Apata, a member of the House Committee, also acknowledged the impact of the station traffic update and travel advisory on the travel time of the public, urging the station not to relent in the discharge of its mandate.

Earlier, the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, Tayo Akanle, appreciated the members of the House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security for the working visit to the station, highlighting the challenges and achievements of the station and its positive impact on listeners.

He also noted that the unprecedented achievements recorded by the station were based on consistency in service delivery, which has helped set a standard for the station among its peers in Nigeria.

Akanle further averred that the station has positively added value to Lagosians’ lives and will continue to do so by ensuring they spend less time in traffic through prompt delivery of travel advisories on the roads, waterways, and railways.

Furthermore, the general manager said the station had foresight by partnering with the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) to give railway updates before the establishment of Lagos Blue Rail.

He, therefore, urged Lagosians to be on the lookout for updates on the Lagos Red Line Railway as soon as it commences operation.
